About Alisa Teletovic

‘The art is about who you belong to, about what country you belong to, it is about the only way you can know and others will know too’ Valerie Napaljarri Martin

Born in Europe, spent half of her life in Australia, Alisa’s art is true combination of both worlds. Strange figures of the European people mingled with true Australian dreamlike spirit and land, makes Alisa’s work unique. If one looks carefully can see that her messages are real and heartfelt, romantic and poetic, positive above all. Probably because of her constant fight to survive and belong to, Alisa feels more in love with aboriginal art then anything else, embracing how they too belong to the land but not to the country, constant emotional outburst- that use of dots calm down. Alisa Teletovic paints emus, salt bushes and outback landscape placing herself or people in her landscape bigger then land - bigger then life. There is so much to say and so much to do, to capture the hearts, all hearts that are painted.

Alisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from RMIT University, graduating in 1999 followed by Electronic Design and Interactive Media in 2000 in Melbourne.

She has been the recipient of several awards, and included in a number of collections throughout Australia and Europe. She has exhibited wisely throughout Australia since 2000 in both group and solo exhibitions.
