Amanda's unique work reflects the contemporary, casual and sunshine filled lifestyle of the picturesque Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Amanda Brooks' work on large canvases are vibrantly colourful and reflect her love of nature from her fragrant frangipanis to her patchworks of beautiful bowls, fruit and kitchen finery. Amanda's work captures light and form in a breathtaking manner. She also has an interest in the human form and enjoys figure drawing and painting tasteful nudes.

Her dedication to observing nature is displayed in the way she approaches her still lives: nasturtiums curl out of a blue vase onto a bright yellow canvas, bowls of fruit overflow and jostle with teacups while juicy oranges tumble out of an old Chinese tureen. "When one is in touch with nature no season passes unnoticed", says Amanda.

Amanda started as a graphic designer, moving to teach painting, this brings to her work a discipline and life likeness that is often hard to find in the work of contemporary painters. Attention to detail, composition and an eye for colour have made her work highly prized, being represented in private collections throughout South East Asia, Europe, United States and Australia.

Amanda's work caters to the corporate and domestic market attracting renovators, home decorators and designers. Amanda's work is highly sought after and due to demand, she now paints on a full time basis.

Amanda recently exhibited at The Affordable Art Show held at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, was featured in the May '04 edition of Australian Country Style and the January '05 edition of Australian House and Garden.
