Anita Bye

Anita’s interest in art (drawing and painting) began in early childhood and continued throughout her years in High School, where a study of fine arts was important to her. She recalls the “exhibition” of two of her early paintings in the corridors of the high school. In 1983 her love of painting drew her to attend private art schools, in particular the Melbourne School of Arts. Here her drawing and painting skills improved considerably, She especially enjoyed the classes of Robert Gill, artist and author of „Rendering with Pen and Ink“, who at that time taught the subjects “Colour and Design” and “ Introduction to Perspective”. Plain Air painting further helped her to learn to see.

In the last years she took classes with Ron Reynolds, artist, who has helped her to develop her own style of „abstracting realism“, using strong colours in the paintings. Her paintings are now a mix of geometric and natural shapes in the style of cloisonnisme. She finds subjects in the Australian landscape and elaborates on them exploring them from various angles, fracturing and juxtaposing.

Anita has participated in various group exhibitions, held solo exhibitions and exhibits with the painting group “Mixed Palette”.

Anita is a member of the Doncaster Templestowe Artists Society.

Her paintings have been sold in Australia, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
