About Bic Walker

Born in Vietnam in 1974 Bic Walker escaped war torn Vietnam at the age of four. educated in Melbourne Australia as a qualified Architect, Bic is now crafting a career as a keynote speaker, Children Book author and illustrator. Bic's experience as a refugee was the catalyst for her first Book "A Safe Place to Live". This autobiographical children's book recounts her experiences in fleeing Vietnam with her Family in 1979 on a tiny boat bound for freedom. The events that transpired are the stuff that Hollywood movies are made of. Attacked by Pirates and left for dead the refugee boat drifted the ocean without direction. Finally rescued by a canadian oil tanker, Bic and her family were transported to Malaysia where they waited for 6 months before being taken to Australia. Bic has written a second book "Finding Hope", again based on a true story, that of Cambodian Srey, who as a four year old lost her mother to AIDS and was sent to the "Hope for Cambodian Children" orphanage. Here Srey finds her hope and shares it with the world. A talented artist, Bic has incorporated her extraordinary paintings in both her books. These paintings range from hauntingly sad images to images of freedom, hope and optimism. For more information go to http://www.bicwalker.com/
