About Georgia Janetzki

Georgia Janetzki recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (with Distinction) - printmaking major at RMIT University. Her work examines the visceral relationship between the Australian landscape and the body, as markings of time, place and the cyclic nature of existence.

Georgia worked in Melbourne for more than twenty years as an editorial illustrator and designer. Selected clients include Environment Australia, Business Review Weekly, City of Melbourne, Gourmet Traveller, Melbourne Theatre Company, Mushroom Records, Penguin Books, The Age, Victoria's Open Range Zoo at Werribee and Vogue Australia. She received a pinnacle award (illustration category) in the Australian Graphic Design Association National Awards and has received design awards from the Australian Writers and Art Directors Association and the National Print Awards. Georgia has also been a judge for the Walkley Awards and the Melbourne Art Directors Club Awards.

For eight years Georgia has lectured in illustration and drawing within the Communication Design Program at RMIT University and currently combines this with establishing her art practice. Georgia won the 2008 City of Stonnington and Firestation Print Studio Graduate Print Award and was highly commended in the 2009 Port Jackson Press Graduate Printmaking Award. This year she has been selected as a finalist in the Swan Hill Acquisitive Print and Drawing Awards and will soon be exhibiting in the Port Jackson Press 'Little Window of Opportunity'.
