About Jane Mogensen

JANE MOGENSEN :: CONTEMPORARY AUSTRALIAN ARTIST

Jane Mogensen studied Design at RMIT, Melbourne. Following a professional career in Fashion Design, Jane chose to pursue her love of painting under the guidance of renowned contemporary artist Terrence J. Hadler. She has received several awards and been a finalist in a number of Contemporary Art Exhibitions.

Jane's paintings are greatly influenced by her surroundings having lived on the Mornington Peninsula for the past 12 years. Her paintings are subtle and lush with colour that engages the imagination and conveys a weight of emotional connection to atmospheres and places.

Through the skilful use of palette knife and brushwork she scrapes and layers the paintings, to achieve the same understated transcendence in all of her work.

Jane has been involved in numerous group exhibitions and recently Cook St Collective in Flinders. In 2012 she exhibited at the Royal Exhibition Buildings as part of ART Melbourne and had a very successful debut with a near sellout show. Her artwork ‘Awakening Light’ was featured on THE BLOCK 2014. Her paintings are held in numerous private collections throughout Australia. She currently lives and works in Mt Martha.
