Jenny Schwab
As an art teacher of 18 years experience my work has involved many mediums and styles. Over the
past three years I have explored female forms using feenies clay. My sculptures are based on the
real and the mythical. They slowly evolve and become who they are in parallel to women everywhere.
I generally aim to create women at peace with themselves. My influences are many: Myths,
Legends and Fairy tales that have been passed on through centuries, writers Charmain Clift, Drusilla
Modjeska and Clarissa Pinkola Estes, artists Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh and Chagall, and more
locally sculptors Deborah Halpern, Pauline Clayton and author illustrater Alison Lester. I am working
to create a series of ladies with a view to exhibiting them all together.
