About Joan Goldsworthy

Joan Goldsworthy is a contemporary artist who began her art studies at the National Art School in Sydney during the 1950’s. She completed a Visual Arts degree at the University of Western Sydney in 1987.

Rothko, Monet, Pollock, Tapies, and Australian artists such as Guy Warren, John Olsen and Tony Tuckson, have all been influential in Joan's paintings.

Joan has exhibited widely and her work is now represented in private and public collections in Australia, NZ, UK, Switzerland and the USA. She has also nurtured many talented artists through her painting, drawing and mixed media classes and workshops.

A love of bold music, movement, colour and humour, together with a sense of place, interpreting what is felt; rather than merely repeating what is seen. So the work is sometimes emotional, sometimes elusive, sometimes quirky...but always from the soul.
