Jonathan Wyl Gemmell

Australian abstract artist Jonathan, was born in Mitcham Australia 1989. Upon completing all Art subjects in Year 12, he began an apprenticeship in Landscape Construction at NMIT. Following the apprenticeship he pursued a career as a professional Landscaper/Landscape Designer.

Jonathan finds enjoyment in painting to escape the rush and the hustle and bustle of day to day life. He is currently running his own business 'Green Future Landscaping' and uses any spare time to create new art, explore new mediums and styles.

From the age of 8, Jonathan has been exploring different forms of art. For him, it was important to wait until his art reached maturity before he could take the leap to enter an Exhibition.

Jonathan's artistic visions come through his landscaping, and this is reflected in his paintings. The colours in the garden reflect many different shades, foliage, flowers and the natural materials provide him inspiration.

Jonathan has experimented with several painting tools from cooking utensils, spatulas, forks and knifes, brushes, oils waxes and aerosol, anything he could get his hands on to create eye catching pieces with a difference. 

Jonathan wants the whole painting to be enjoyed, the colours rich and captivating.
