About Karen Hall

Karen Hall was born in the UK and initially moved to Melbourne in 1998. Specialising in fashion and textiles, she graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1985 (now Liverpool John Moores University) and awarded a first class B.A.(Hons) followed by Masters Design, Royal College of Art, London. Karen then went on to pursue a dynamic career as a womenswear designer and trend forecasting with international designer labels and global brands. Her career, spanning over fifteen years enabled her to live and work in London, Paris, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hong Kong and Melbourne where she migrated in 2001 with her husband and son.

In 2008 Karen started to take classes in watercolour painting.  Initially to take herself back to a learning environment, this proved to be an interesting journey in the exploration of the watercolour medium and of the changing effects of light and dark in composition.
