About Liz Johnson

Liz is a visual artist, who has been exhibiting her artwork since 2006, in both group and solo exhibitions. Her work is held in public and private collections.

Liz has been working in the genres of landscape and still life. She has most recently been working on Japanese rice paper with a variety of inks. Liz creates abstract landscapes from torn up pieces of paper. She often creates art onsite, working quickly and intensely to capture the beauty and intensity of nature. Liz desires to capture the sense or mood of a place, rather than the reality of a location, although she intends that the places are somewhat recognisable. She is inspired by what she sees around her. In 2015-16, Liz undertook an artist in residency program at Caritas Christi, Kew.
