About Michael Jenkins

Michael Jenkins,
A natural affinity with the notion of recycling, Michael takes these often discarded materials, be it old road signage, number plates or timbers from demolished homes to a new level called "up cycling" With influences like Rosalie Gascoigne and John Dahlsen, Michael creates an assemblage of movement and textures from the salvaged pieces into pleasing aesthetic artworks that form the substance of his many exhibitions.
So far this year he has had exhibitions at Soho in Sydney, Breslin gallery in Melbourne and has been a chosen visual artist for the upcoming RawArtists.org major exhibition at the end of March in Melbourne. Also booked for this year is the Without Pier gallery and Kingston Arts Centre. Michael's work has been accepted into many prizes and awards culminating with being a finalist in the recent National Sunshine Coast Art Prize in QLD.
