Michelle Giacobello

Michelle's work is represented in both private and public collections in Australia and USA. She is particularly drawn to the human figure, and the human condition, seeking to draw a response from the viewer by capturing subtle gestures, private moments and evocative glances.

In creating art, Michelle is mindful that an original work brings its own personality to the environment. She feels that a work should breathe and occupy a space without overpowering it - revealing itself to the viewer gently but surely. Her works are often layered with unusual colours in ways that are both playful yet investigative - allowing her pieces to add a welcome and stimulating dimension to any space.

Michelle is inspired by artists Peter Doig, Arthur Boyd, Charles Blackman, Sidney Nolan, Edvard Munch, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and by the delicious antics of children.

Michelle is currently represented by Louey & Lane Gallery (Glenhuntly), and Gallery 775 (Red Hill).
