Nikki Perzuck's profile 2011

Nikki Perzuck is a Melbourne based artist whose paintings invite you to explore a dynamic culmination of vibrant colour, form and adventure. Nikki has incorporated the spirit of the places she has travelled to and her signature houses feature throughout her works. They are a metaphor for the physical and mental journeys we all experience in life. Nikki graduated from Graphic Design in 1992 and worked in product development, colour forecasting and textile design for fashion and interior design companies before shifting her focus back to her true love of painting several years ago.

Inspite of her travels abroad, the Australian landscape is her dominant influence with its ever changing sunsets, countryside and coastal views. “Through the pathways I create, I try to combine movement between interwoven shapes and forms. I like to use vibrant colour mixes and layered texture to translate this energy into imagery. I tend to immerse myself in this journey and infuse the diverse cultures that have impacted on me”. Nikki continues to explore the relationship between nature and urban culture. Nikki believes the purpose of her painting is to uplift the spirit. Her works are a celebration of the simple things in life which she captures using interesting colour combinations and exciting movement. The viewer is immersed in this mysterious journey and can follow the pathways or just enjoy discovering hidden elements. Nikki has embraced the freedom to express optimism and harmony through her works.

Nikki was a feature artist in the Canterbury Art Exhibition and The Balmain Art Show, Sydney in 2010. In October 2010 she exhibited her works at the Estense Castle in Ferrara, Italy for the “Creative Energy” International Art Exhibition, selected by the artistic committee at Trevisan International Art. Nikki had a solo exhibiton "Pathways" at the Art2Muse Gallery, Sydney in February, 2011. Nikki was also invited to exhibit in the “Spirit of Art” International Art Exhibition at La Galleria in London in March, 2011 and in the “Little Treasures” International Exhibition at Galleria De' Marchi in Bologna, Italy in April 2011. Nikki will be exhibiting at Art Melbourne with the Manyung Gallery in May, 2011.
