Pip grew up surrounded by art with the maestros of the Antipodean School being frequent visitors to her parent's house.
Pip has been on a cultural journey firstly working as an archaeologist in indigenous cultures for Australia, New Guinea and Bahrain. She then broadened into Australian historic heritage running the National Trusts of SA and then Qld.
Her broad understanding of the significance of art and history saw her appointed to the Inaugural Moveable Cultural Heritage Committee and the Australian Heritage Commission.
These experiences developed her interest in fine art. Whilst raising her children Pip decided to revisit her passion for painting and sculpture.
She found her artistic abilities had been waiting in the wings for expression, thus her life's journey has reinvigorated her artistic capacity.
Working with paint on canvas her passion and sense of freedom allows for a broad range of artistic expression covering landscapes, portraits and imaginative motifs. Her liberal use of paint and strong simple lines give sculptural intensity and life to the conceptual form. Her works may be challenging or contemplative, peaceful or demanding, whatever the case it is there for you to explore and enjoy.
Pip recently moved to Swan Street Studio's at 550 Swan Street Burnley where her work can be viewed by appointment.
