About Ron Reynolds

Ron Reynolds works as an Artist and Teacher from his Templestowe home. He holds a Diploma of Fine Art from Preston Institue of Technology, where he studied under Peter Booth, Dale Hickey, Brian Siedel and David Tolley.

Ron paints mainly in oils. His works are semi-abstract images built upon figurative studies drawn from life. Most of his works are completed in the studio from brief compositional drawings. Ron's paintings have a strong underlying structure achieved by colour.

Ron was awarded First Prize R.S.P.C.A Melbourne (1995 & 1997); was Victorian Artists Society 'Artist of the Year' (1996) and received the V.A.S. Norman Kaye Medal (1997). He has held seven one man exhibitions.

His works are held in Art Bank, Canberra; City of Nillumbik (formerly Shire of Diamond Valley); Hawthorn Institute of State Education; and the C.I.G. Collection; as well as in private collections both in Australia and overseas.

Ron Reynolds will be taking two watercolour workshops for children on the Saturday of the 2002 Canterbury Art Exhibition.
