Sally MumfordBorn and raised in the African bush in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) Huge sky’s and vibrant colours have been and still are Sally’s inspiration. Influenced by many visits to Europe and around the world have resulted in her painting in a very individual style which depicts her ability to mix a certain mysticism with recognizable landscapes so that the viewer can interpret their own meaning to the painting. The discipline and devotion to her art is evident in her ability to express her talent using avariety of different artistic techniques. Sally has enjoyed one success after another since she arrived in Australia this includes being a finalist in a number of National Art Prizes two Highly Commended in the 2011 Wagga Wagga Art Prize and one in 2010. Finalist in the Mortimore Art Prize, Muswellbrook Art Prize and Flavourtech Art Prize - Girffiths in 2011. The 2010 Outback Art Prize and Country Scapes Art Prize and in previous years. She was invited to exhibit in the 'On the Edge' Exhibition in Bologna Italy in November 2011. And has been invited to have solo exhibitions in Cootamundra and the Grenfell Art Gallery later in the year.
