Her most noted award was for the painting ‘Following the Landscape’, one of a series selected by Maudie Palmer for exhibition in the Nillumbik Art Prize. ‘Following the Landscape’ also won the ‘People’s Choice Award’.

Sheryl has been a featured artist at the Canterbury Art Exhibition at Canterbury Primary and has exhibited annually there since 1998. In 2008 she won best painting small works which was judged by Dr John Gregory, Senior Lecturer of Theory of Art and Design at Monash University.

She is currently exhibiting at Rivers Edge Gallery Lorne and Eagles Nest Gallery Aireys Inlet .

In producing contemporary Australian landscapes, Sheryl draws upon the topography of the land, then paints what she visualises as most significant. Her work is ever evolving along with the landscape that she paints. In the Wurundjeri District Series, the landscape and trees have almost a primitive simplicity to them to convey an ancient land. The work of Fred Williams and John Olsen have had the biggest influence in her work.
