Conditions of Entry

  1. An exhibitor may enter up to the maximum number of artworks shown on the Artwork Entry Form.
  2. All works must be original, in any medium (except textiles), and not greater than 3 years old.
  3. Works must not have been submitted in previous years.
  4. Painting and print works should be suitably framed or finished ready for hanging, provided with screw eyes and hanging wire. Wet work will not be hung.
  5. No painting shall have any side longer than 1.4m.
  6. The Personal/Gallery Details Form and the Artwork Entry Form must be returned by the due date. (see Artwork Entry Form for details)
  7. The handling charge indicated on Artwork Entry Form is requested to be paid by the exhibitor to help cover the cost of screen hire, advertising, printing and insurance.
  8. The applicable fee MUST be forwarded with Artwork Entry Form, cheques payable to Canterbury Primary School.
  9. For taxation purposes, artists are required to either supply an ABN on the Personal/Gallery Details Form or complete and sign a supplier statement. Without these, the government requires that 48.5% of any payments due be withheld.
  10. Each work must bear the artist's name, the title and price of the work.
  11. Delivery of works to the School, in Molesworth Street, Canterbury, can be made on the Delivery Days only.
  12. Artwork Delivery Form should be completed and brought to the Exhibition when the artworks are delivered.
  13. Unsold works will be available for collection at the end of the last day of the Exhibition, between 6.00pm and 7.30pm. Any works not collected will not be covered by insurance and no responsibility will be taken for any loss/damage. Extra charges for storage may also be incurred.
  14. Transport of works to and from the Exhibition will be the responsibility of the artist, and will be at his/her cost.
  15. All care will be taken, but no responsibility will be accepted for loss or damage to any work.
  16. PLEASE NOTE: The organisers reserve the right to reject any work, and no correspondence regarding their decision will be entered into. In such instances, handling charges will be refunded.
  17. The organisers reserve the right to rotate submitted works throughout the duration of the exhibition; hence not all submitted works may be on display at the one time. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into on this point.
  18. All artworks may be photographed for use in the www.canterburyart.com catalogue and other Canterbury Art Exhibition promotions. For more information see: www.canterburyart.com/forartists/artworkphotos.html.
  19. Placement in the www.canterburyart.com catalogue of all entries with artwork photographs is planned but cannot be guaranteed.
  20. A Commission of 25% will be taken on all sales (after allowing for GST if applicable).
  21. Money owing due to sale of works will be paid by cheque within 30 days of the end of the exhibition.
