Artist's FAQ

  1. New Artists

    1. How can I have my works exhibited?

      Only invited artists will be exhibited. Artists are selected by the Exhibition Committee. New artists may submit a sample of their work for review in February each year. Please contact the Artist's Liaison Convenor to make your submission.

    2. I am a school parent. Can I bypass the selection process?

      No. You must submit a sample of your work for review by February.

    3. I am a school staff member. Can I bypass the selection process?

      No. You must submit a sample of your work for review by February.

    4. I am an art committee member. Can my friend bypass the selection process?

      No. Your friend must submit a sample for review by February.

    5. Is there any way to bypass the selection process?

      No. All new artists must provide samples of their work for review by February.

  2. Canterbury Art Exhibition Committee

    1. What is the Canterbury Art Exhibition Committee?

      The committee comprises a number of volunteers from the Canterbury Primary School community. The art exhibition committee is a sub-committee of the Canterbury Primary School Council. Committee members are responsible for running the exhibition.

    2. Who can join?

      Any Canterbury Primary School parent or staff member may volunteer.

  3. GST Issues

    1. How is the commission calculated when GST is included in the price of an artwork ?

      The commission is calculated on the price excluding GST.

    2. What happens to the GST collected?

      The GST on sold artworks is forwarded to the artist along with the balance of the ex-GST price after the deduction of the commission. It is the responsibility of the artist to include the GST in their Business Activity Statement.

    3. What happens if a buyer requests a Tax Invoice ?

      The request will be forwarded to the artist along with the buyer's details so that a Tax Invoice can be issued by the artist.
