Louise Aaron Wearable Art
• Originally studied Graphic Design at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
• Worked as a designer in South Africa, and later in Sydney, after immigrating to Australia in 1985.
• Moved to Melbourne in 1994 and undertook courses in silversmithing.
• Influenced by tribal African jewellery - specifically it’s ‘naïve’ and ‘unfinished’ look.
• Quirky designs, incorporating stamped words and deliberate mismatching.
• Handmade, freeform pieces, designed as distinctive, original, wearable art.
