Jeannie Stephen, So Sublime

Jeannie’s work is eclectic and her ability to blend styles results in effortless elegance. She has a passion for nature and the exotic. All these things are reflected in the colours and organic shapes and materials in her jewellery. She uses irregularly shaped semiprecious stones and her own hand smithed silver fastenings. Each piece is unique and is created as a piece of wearable art.

Originally from a fashion industry background, Jeannie managed for Vivian Endean at "The Ring" in Chapel Street, South Yarra , Victoria up until 2008. Being surrounded there by an amazing array of individually styled jewellery was her inspiration to create her own pieces. Colour plays an important role in Jeannie's creative process. She finds that her mood is often influenced by the colours around her, and conversely the colours and textures she incorporates into her pieces are often a reflection of her state of mind. Her use of colour is intuitive and her jewellery evolves in its assembly, the result of a free spirit without preconceived design to impose limits on it. The jewellery is beautifully crafted and ranges in style from vibrant young, casual pieces to more rustic, spiritual pieces and those reflecting nature.

Jeannie has created jewellery for Princess Mary and her wedding party. Her pieces have also been seen on TV in "Secret Life of Us" and are popular with Logies guests and nominees. Jeannie adds her own twist to bridal jewellery, and has provided many brides with unique accessories to accent their gowns for that special day.
