About Bronwyn Gaze

Bronwyn Gaze, artist, Borden, Shire of Gnowangerup , Western Australia 6338

a life lived on the land feet on the ground head in the clouds

Country born artist, Bronwyn Gaze, is fascinated by the patchwork of land, forever changed by farming.

The wave of clearing and cutting, digging and ripping has tamed and turned the wild bush land of this country into a counterpane of straight lines.

Seeds are sown into perfect straight lines. Surrounded by tight, straight fences. Sheep trail a straight line to the water trough. Sheds and homesteads are built tall and straight. Straight telephone poles and power lines and towers line the long straight roads which intersect more long straight roads.

Using mostly oil on canvas, Bronwyn’s paintings embrace our Great Southern skies, our regimental wheat stubble, graceful woodlands, paddocks peppered by sheep and cattle, bleached salty creeks, abandoned, broken fences, burned orange breakaways and the silent art of deep green rivers.

Bronwyn has exhibited widely throughout the Great Southern of WA for the past 20 years. Her recent exhibition “The Silent Art of The River” was held mid October 2019 at Old Auction Room in Albany. Other Paintings are currently at Gallery Aura in Kojonup WA.

Bronwyn won best oil painting award , non acquisitional at the Albany Centennial Art Show 2008. (Date not positive)
