Josephine PitittoJosephine has a background in farming, building and also being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed art at a young age but thought it normal to be able to draw. She started her first art class in 1996 after 2 years of chronic illness which left her weak and unable to continue her hectic lifestyle. Not long after realising her destiny. Josephine enjoys working with different mediums - watercolours, oils, ink drawing on linen and paper and acrylic. From traditional to contemporary styles. Josephine has received over 120 awards and has held exhibitions in Victoria, South Australia and overseas. She regularly participates in group exhibitions. Josephine has held demonstrations at various art societies. In 2005 she was Artist in Residence in Italy. She held classes and successfully exhibited. She was the finalist at the Alice Bale Works on Paper on several occasions and has had work and tutorials published in the Australian Artists magazine. Josephine's works are currently represented by various galleries. Her latest awards are: 2007 Best work on paper Ivanhoe Art Show 2007 1st prize watercolour at the Mt Waverley Art Show 2008 Highly commended award for contemporary art 2008 highly commended award at the Caulfield Society for the Arts 2009 The Bendigo art prize highly commended 2009 Finalist at the BSG Art prize Josephine's paintings are held in collections in France, Italy, America, South Africa and Australia.
