About Maria Euripides
Maria Euripides was born in Melbourne in 1950. She spent most of her working life in Office Administration.
In her early thirties she took up art lessons in oil painting for a few years, and sold in the Moomba Art Show.
Life got in the way, and she stopped painting and went onto other things until her retirement 7 years ago, when she started doing Water colours at the Box Hill South Neighbourhood House. She found it challenging, but at their annual exhibition, Maria sold quite a few of her paintings encouraging her to become more involved with her art.
In 2015 sold at Strathdon Art Exhibition
In 2017 at the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Show Maria came second in her section and also received Highly Commended.
She has started to do Acrylic Paintings and is enjoying the different medium
She recently painted around Port Fairy, on site, finding this a valuable excercise, and has joined the Box Hill Art Society. In 2018 Maria received the President Encouragement Award and sold a painting at there annual exhibition.
In 2018 Maria sold a painting in the Melbourne Garden Show.
David Taylor has inspired her to paint with his capturing of the light. Maria loves to create with colour.
