About Bryan Fitzgerald

Bryan was born in Nelson, England in 1960 and migrated with his family to Australia in 1969. Bryan studied at Deakin University and completed a Bachelor of Education majoring in Painting and Drawing. After a decade of teaching with the Department of School education, he returned to study at R.M.I.T. On completion of a Graduate Diploma in Interior Design, Bryan worked as a freelance designer.

Whilst involved in these career paths Bryan continued to pursue his strong interest in painting and drawing. He now works as a professional artist and has held five solo exhibitions, as well as being involved in many group shows.

Bryan works in watercolours and acrylics in a broad range of subject matters. He also teaches painting and drawing to adults at Arts on Burgundy, Heidelberg, Victoria.

Bryan is an award winning artist. Recent prizes include: Second Prize for Works on Paper at the Roberts McCubbin Art Show (2002), First Prize at the Charlton Art Exhibition for Best Local Subject Matter and People's Choice at the Charlton Art Exhibition (2002). His work is held in private and corporate collections both in Australia and overseas.

He will be holding an exhibition at Wiregrass Gallery, Eltham in 2003.
