About Carla Rose
Painting is my key to the secret garden, my way down the rabbit hole.
Carlas work is both elegant, yet whimsical, often with an underlying narrative that captures the imagination. Majorly Influenced by artists Joy Hester, Charles Blackman, Mirka Mora, and Paula Rego. Her recognisable figurative painting style depicting girls who are as strange as they are familiar in vibrant uplifting colour pallets evokes a sense of nostalgia, timeless beauty, mystery, humour, and comfort. Carlas works are held in private collections throughout Australia ,North America, and Europe. She Studied her bachelor of arts degree at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) 1999- 2004 Majoring in Painting. In 2007 -2012 lived and worked in Europe with her studio based in Berlin. Carla art practice and studio is situated in the Yarra Valley perched on the side of a Mountain.
