About Carolyn Dennis
Carolyn is an artist based in Kyneton in north-west Victoria. Like so many children, she loved art from her earliest days and was often found curled up somewhere with paper and colouring pencils creating her latest masterpiece. Having studied Fine Art and Interior Design in the 1980s at what was then the Melbourne College of Decoration, Carolyn resumed painting and drawing several years ago.
Working predominantly in acrylic on canvas and coloured pencils on paper, Carolyn’s work is often described as having a bold graphic style. She is inspired by nature and draws on references from the surrounds of her country studio. Flowers are a particular favourite. When asked why, Carolyn says “painting and drawing flowers is my very own form of meditation. The work is detailed and time consuming but I enjoy the challenge and find it deeply rewarding. Simply put, it makes me happy to create beautiful works of art.”
Carolyn exhibits at Works Of Art Gallery, 176 Mollison St, Kyneton.
