About Diana Platt

Diana Platt is a Melbourne based illustrator.

Never to be found without a pencil in her hand as a child, it was a seemingly natural progression to enter an artistic vocation, which she did when she undertook a graphic design course at Monash University. Four years later she emerged with a degree and a major in her favourite subject, illustration.

Her career as a freelance illustrator was launched and rather than wait for work to come to her, she created 6 greeting cards for the retail market, printed them and started distributing them. Diana Platt Design was born. Over the years she has produced over 80 greeting cards, many wrapping paper designs, and children's birthday invitations. Also over this period of time she has produced many individual cards for America and a range of cards for Schurman in England and Hallmark in Australia.

Diana also freelances alongside her business. She has explored many facets of illustration including editorial, children's books, advertising and design work. Some of her clients include the Victorian Government (Australia Day Campaign), Powerhouse Museum, Oxford University Press, Personal Investor magazine, Bank of Japan and Melbourne's Child just to name a few.

Painting is another great love and so she has extended and explored this avenue by creating paintings for children and over the past few years has had many commissioned pieces. She has also been apart of several exhibitions with her work created for the adult market.
