About Karen Foster

Karen Foster was born in Sydney and relocated to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula 18 years ago.As far as her chosen painting subjects, she likes to paint a myriad of images, and continues to develop her skills as a painter. “The simple and unassuming nature of the local landscape continues to capture my imagination, hence you will see it reflected in my work”.She uses a number of different techniques and is drawn to muted contrasts of colour and light and is influenced by the art of Andrzej Skorut, Georgio Morandi and John Stockwell.Karen has successfully exhibited her work at Camberwell Art Show, Bayside Art Show, Derinya Art Show and various other exhibitions throughout Melbourne and the Peninsula. Karen has returned to her creative expression recently and is delighted to be back exhibiting at the Canterbury Art Show.
