Margaret Delahunty Spencer

The current series of oil paintings are overdrawn with both charcoal and oil pastel, loosely titled ‘meanderings’. I am enjoying playing with shapes and layers, as some shapes disappear and others are revealed, the texture of the work is slowly built upon and the happy accidents are welcomed. The works are a study in the tensions created between the busy spaces and the restful places. The works are obviously both joyous in colour and form, but the viewer is also asked to enjoy a moment of contemplation.
