About Maria LeBlanc
Maria LeBlanc is an esteemed Mornington Peninsula artist. She discovered her love for painting as a young girl in Sweden and continued to paint whilst studying and working around the world. Maria and her family moved to the Mornington Peninsula in 2003.
"I feel lucky to be living in such as inspiring environment" she states. "I have painted for as long as I can remember, using various mediums. Lately my love for oil has been rekindled. I love the vibrancy and texture I am able to create with this medium. I have been lucky to be painting with John Bredl for the last five years. He has been a great inspiration to me and an excellent mentor.
I am passionate about painting scenes that move me emotionally. I believe it is vital for a painting to exude an emotion or a feeling... be it tranquility, peace or turmoil. Capturing the mood of the ocean and the sky and their interplay with eachother I find particularly thrillling as an artist. A recent trip to Cape York has inspired me to do some outback paintings as well. I exhibit regularly in art shows around Victoria and have received several "highly commended" awards. Two of my paintings were finalists in AGRA in 2011 and I have won three first prices with "best in show" Milawa 2009 and Cardinia 2015 and "best oil or acrylic" Albert Park 2014."
