About Matthew Collins
Matthew Collins' art is autobiographically haunted by science and poetry, drawing on a mix of entomology and literature his paintings are a place where his love of butterflies, childhood memories and the autobiography of Vladimir Nabokov collide. A dash of the botanical illustrations of the 18th century dragged into the 21st with rough cut typography, his style flickers between the traditional and the contemporary. Matthew is a Welsh artist who has only recently moved to Australia, recently his works have featured in two issues of Australian Interiors.
