About Rasa Daukus
Rasa is an artist and illustrator based in Canberra.
Rasa is passionate about drawing for both its simplicity and immediacy. She loves line, shape, pattern, character and narrative, and the idea of capturing a moment or thought. Her big influences are: the wide-eyed characters of Japanese illustration, street art, contemporary Chinese figurative artists, Lithuanian folk art, the amazing crafters who hand-make those beautiful kooky soft-dolls, and the imagination of children. Rasa’s current charcoal works form part of her Sylphing series – a body of work based on the fancy of "playing with sylphs”.
