About Ruth Kelly
Having always had a desire to paint, Ruth attempted watercolour painting with Margaret Medcalf, then the late Ric Riordan for a short time. About twelve years ago she started pastel painting with Lyn Mellady in Mt Eliza. Later Ruth joined the Mentone Mordialloc Art Group and has been attending Heather Peberdy's classes for five years.
At the Spring Exhibition at Mentone Mordialloc Art Group in 2001, Ruth was awarded the "Rita Doherty Aquisitive Award" for the best in show. This was a thrilling moment for a hobby painter.
Ruth has also exhibited at the Flinders Art Show.
