About Yvonne Watson
Over the past fifteen years Yvonne has been working mainly with lithography and etchings. These images have been based on the passage of time and space. The psychological aspect of the space between heaven (infinity) and earth has been a dominant feature of recent work. The space, representing zero degrees, signifies the beginning of time and all that has evolved. The clouds signify infinity, creating a dimension that precedes time. The use of a street lid cements the image into the here and now. She has gathered these street lid images from Paris, Italy, Greece, Russia, USA, China and Australia.
Yvonne also works with photography and digital imagery and exhibited in the 2002 Josephine Ulrich National Photography Prize.
Commissions and acquisitions include: Print Council of Australia Commission (1995); Silk Cut Acquisition - Artist's Book "Relative Issues" (1998).
