Helen Goodear
Helen Goodear has been making art and exhibiting for over twenty years.
Born in Far Northern New South Wales, she studied in Sydney and in Brisbane, gaining a Diploma of Teaching, with a major in expressive and performing arts.
There followed several influential years of travel throughout Australia, Asia and Europe, living and working in London and Auckland before settling in Melbourne.
Helen has done further study in a Diploma of Visual Arts and has returned to teaching, both in primary school art and adult education.
With a background in drawing, watercolour and oil painting, Helen now enjoys using a wide range of media. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, she has been printmaking with linocut, woodblock and dry point etching.
“I am concerned with portraying a moment in time, changes in the landscape and the ephemeral nature of living things.”
